We’re hiring a Bookkeeper (Newmarket, ON)
Now, more than ever, we are facing the need for safe, affordable, well-maintained housing. The Community Housing Management Network provides financial and property management services to co-operatives and non-profit housing providers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team and work out of the head office in Newmarket, ON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes.
General duties include:
Accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment collection.
Conduct account reconciliations to ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date.
Utilize QuickBooks.
Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
Assist with audit preparation
Complete and enter subsidy calculations
Complete ITA reconciliations
General requirements:
QuickBooks knowledge and a minimum of one-year practical experience
Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.

Wage: $22.50 - $24.50/hour. This is a part-time position at 25 hours per week.
